Re: Lloyd Burlingham House (unbuilt), El Paso, TX
I'm afraid I am not so good a sleuth that I can pinpoint the planned location, but the court decision that I mentioned in my previous post (which was so long ago that I honestly do not remember writing it!) offers a fascinating clue as to where *not* to look -- El Paso! According to the Supreme Cour...

Re: Harold Turner
I don't believe that I have ever seen a photograph of Mr. Turner himself. Does anyone have one?

Re: Article on Wright Houses in St. Joseph and Benton Harbor, Michigan
I can share an interesting sidenote that I found about Ina Morriss Harper, which did not make it into the final published article: Harper's unique middle name – with two S's – was her paternal grandmother's maiden name. Her last name raises a certain curiosity as well, in light of her Alabama roots....

Roderick: Scott does not own the Anthony house anymore. I am not certain when he and Eileen sold, but last I knew, they owned another piece of midcentury architecture not too far away.

Re: Article on Wright Houses in St. Joseph and Benton Harbor, Michigan
SDR: Thank you. Yes, do not be thrown by the "2016" heading (which should probably say "2016 to present"). It is indeed the January-February 2021 issue. DRN: The article does indeed end with a discussion of the ill-fated Snowflake Motel, which, unlike the Wright houses, no longer...

Article on Wright Houses in St. Joseph and Benton Harbor, Michigan
I am delighted to report that the latest edition of Michigan History Magazine includes my article on the three Wright-designed houses in St. Joseph and Benton Harbor, Michigan, and the community leaders who were his clients -- Howard Anthony, Ina Morriss Harper, and Carl Schultz -- all of whom sadly...

Artist Donald J. Anderson and FLLW
I have found reference to the late Chicago-based artist Donald J. Anderson, a native of Southwest Michigan, having one or more of his works purchased by FLLW (perhaps at an exhibition in St. Joseph, Michigan, and perhaps for display in a FLLW house) and a friendship developing therefrom. Can anyone ...

W.L. Fuller
Does anyone know anything about W.L. Fuller, for whom FLLW designed the house in Pass Christian, MS, which was destroyed by Hurricane Camille in 1969? I am curious whether he is Warren L. Fuller, Sr., who created W.L. Fuller, Inc. If so, that would lead to a remarkably sad coincidence: his son, Warr...
