Mr. Wright and the Future
Mr. Wright loved to use new technologies. One of his favorites was the Formica (TM) he used in the kitchen in Fallingwater. He loved concrete and all its newer uses. Saying this, todays equivalent of the Usonian would possibly not look like the Usonian of the olden days. Codes don't allow ceiling he...

Usonian Designers
Last year I contacted Ken Dahlin at Genesis. He invited me to Wisconsin. I was remarkably impressed with his knowledge of Wright. His homes and other structures I looked at there were awesome. He spent a lot of time with me asking me questions about what I wanted, etc. Great listener. Incredible bac...

Blueprints
The "blueprints" listed above are actually drawings and they are available new as your own registered copy for several hundred dollars less from the original distribution company. They are the Life Dream House that you see mentioned here on Wright Chat from time to time.

McLellan House
These renderings were posted on the Howe site last year when it was still operational. To answer any potential questions, these are the only size of the images I know that are available. Wish they were larger, as well. http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6002/6020118302_ef983c6436_o.jpg McLellan H...

Unitarian Church Shorewood Hills WI
What is the function of the small, red set of doors/windows at the far bottom right of the photo? Ventilation? Utility access? It seems an odd placement to me, so that means there is more to the story. [/img] http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6141/5972687622_a0ec06e8ce.jpg Unitarian Church Shorewood Hi...

Fay Jones Sacred Spaces
I have some screen captures from the Fay Jones video here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mikeshuck/ ... 078539009/
I bought the video several months ago. It's an excellent tie in to FLW's legacy of organic architecture. BUY THE VIDEO. It's inexpensive and informative.

Perspective
All very interesting! I had no idea those tools were even available. With 3d CAD you just go to view and helicopter mode. The draft/draw methods have such a prettier, more aesthetic result. I'm not sure draft/draw (pencil and tool) aren't sometimes faster in some respects. I had a friend put some dr...

Forced Perspective?
I'm curious as to whether Mr. Wright ever used forced perspective such as is used in the Potemkin Stairs or as used in the Aula Palatina? Is it known that he ever commented on that technique? Would he have considered FP as a cheap trick? A necessary way of satisfying the eye for a specific project?

Buying the McCartney House
I was wondering how hard it would be to disassemble a house such as the McCartney House? The price is remarkably low. It's made of mostly blocks that could be easily reassembled. I'd love to buy it and then disassemble it and move it to my prairie acreage in Kansas. The area is perfect prairie that ...
