the Construction News as research tool
After reading the Davenport Residence discussion clarifying the FLW and Tomlison partnership, I returned to the book quoted: FLW to 1910. SDR was guoting from Manson's book and I found it on page 137 of the book. Manson refers to a student pouring through the CONSTRUCTION NEWS to find subtle indicat...

It is repose (FLW uses the word), the comfort of body spread over the bed, the assurance of no distance to fall...the joy of the reclining gesture, body at rest. Like the bodies in the (new age foam) mattress commercials, the lay of the mattress and body are one. When the structure grows organically...

Apprentice information on Didactic Panels
Yes, this information would be so helpful as we puzzle out the idiosyncracies of the buuildings, the school and the influence of FLW as a teacher, mentor, taskmaster. I suspect the panels are also wonderfully designed. Are the artifacts of the celebration going to be available as a traveling exhibit...

the Loss of Jeanne Rubin
Friends- I have a sad note...Jeanne Rubin died on Friday, September 21, night. Jeanne and her husband, Nathan, built the first Usonian House in the FLW Canton cluster. Jeanne reveled in the special quality her home brought to her life, her music and her scholarship. Her original research and writing...

Margaret Bauroth Wakefield and Ruch Creek Village
My impression is that Margaret visited Taliesin and met FLW. I will make additional inquiries with Margret's friends. One of the Weltzheimer docents was a close friend for many years. Palli Davis Holubar
