I was told that the original single pane windows were removed, stored in a shed and replaced with Pella windows by the prior owner. I am not aware of the condition of the fireplaces.

The late owner told me that the floor slab is 9” deep, a structural mat that spans the building. It has sunk on the window wall side of the house due to actions by a prior owner.

Lake Erie and Lake Ontario are also at record high levels, this has caused Graycliff to alter plans to restore beach access. The fear is that the higher levels and the resulting higher ice mass during winter months create an unsustainable condition for improvements at beach level.

I don't believe it was unique, in the Heath book we reference the account of a 1920's station operator in Altoona, Pa. that employed a similar method (strictly unknown to their customers)
