forest- Thanks so much for correcting my previous post, and for adding the very interesting additional information. I have seen photos of the 2 houses at Polymoth Park, and they look quite interesting. I hope to have the opportunity to see all 3 buildings there sometime in the not too distant future...

Polymath Park

The other two homes that were built at Polymath Park were of course not designed by FLW, but by an apprentice.

I believe that his name was Peter Berendt (spelling?), and I think that the houses were built in the early-to-mid 1960's.

Wrightplus 2007

I noticed today that the FLWPT website is now showing that the 2007 Wrightplus housewalk is already sold out.

I'll go out on a limb and guess the reason for the earlier than normal sellout may be spelled H-E-U-R-T-L-E-Y.

What do you think?

The Westcott House documentary video is now available

I just received this email from the Westcott House, and thought that it might be of interest to the members of the forum. [quote]Dear Members and Friends of The Westcott House: The Westcott House documentary video is now available in our Museum Store. This film chronicles the $5.8 million, four-year...

Having had the pleasure of staying in Michael's house in Two Rivers a few years ago, I can tell you that he and his partner Lisa are wonderful stewards and hosts, and that the moneys they have invested in this spectacular piece of architecture have been very well spent, indeed. I would encourage any...

Tracy House

JimM- You are correct about the Usonian Automatic with a gold leaf ceiling treatment. It is the Tonkens Residence, in a suburb of Cincinnati, which I was fortunate enough to see last summer. Mrs. Tonkens still lives in the house, with her second husband, Sherman (Mr. Tonkens passed away years ago). ...

Having been guests of the owners, I'll second that recommendation wholeheartedly. Mike and Sarah are the best.

Great stewards, great hosts, great property. By all means, stay there if you can.

Rich Client, Poor Client

Based on what I have read, seen and heard, several clients that come to the top of mind towards the lower end of this scale would be most notably the Smiths (Bloomfield, MI), the Pratts (Kalamazoo, MI) and the Popes (Falls Church, VA), and to a lesser extant the Krauses (Kirkwood, Mo), the Haynes (F...

Hey, Mr. Pitt, you could show your devotion by building the house Mr. Wright designed for Arthur Miller and that woman he was married to! FYI, that "other" Kaufmann house, the one in Palm Springs designed by Nuetra, will reportedly be made available for sale in the not too distant future....

Staying in a FLW house is truly magical. I have spent nights in Taliesin West, D D Martin, Tomek and Bogk. The early morning and late evening hours are the best. No tour compares. RGrant- You nailed it with your comments about the experience of staying in a Wright dwelling. There is no tour that ca...

It would be hard to believe that FLW did not have some level of expertise in the area of acoustics, given his lifelong, intense interest in and love of music, as well as the fact that he worked in the offices of Adler and Sullivan for a considerable time during the formative stages of his career. By...

I for one think it would be great if you would be so kind as to post that list of Goff buildings. I too am aware of Bill Bernoudy, and have the book you mentioned. I agree that it is a very nice book, with excellent photography. I have not yet been inside one of his homes, but after looking through ...

Haynes House LLC!

I must admit that I certainly do not always agree with the views expressed on this forum by RJH, but after all, that's in large part the point of this board, isn't it? I do however feel as though I need to comment on the previous post which reflected negatively on RJH and Fort Wayne. I have been for...

I haven't seen the "Studio 60" show, but you can also see the Sowden house featured in a currently running commercial for American Express. In the ad, Ellen Degenaris (spelling?) is sitting in the house in a yoga pose while mulling over the purchase of a pair of socks she recently made wit...
