In the above Ausge-picture it looks like the gates were removed and only the suspension construction remains. The length of the shed shadow under the suspension construction is not long enough. What I don't see in the Ausge-picture is this gate: https://www.flickr.com/photos/zaruka/32999049604/in/ph...

There is a top "chord" to the steel in the window wall. It may be that the connections of the verticals to that "chord" are rigid - welded. A top "chord" would be pulled down under the gable rooftop to a straigh line from posttop to posttop. I'd love to see a structura...

Section E-E: I would continue both walls and the insulated cavity above the roof to the wall tops: better insulation in the corner of wall and ceiling and a less risky support of the thicker wall above the insulation on a thinner wall. Plan: weird sequence from the entry, through a bedroom, through ...

I seem to remember that the executed Greiner house had an exterior look of a swiss chalet, mostly wood outside. When I see it now on Google street view (corner of Taliesin Drive and Parkwyn Drive) I see a lot of brick. Maybe a later addition?

Some books list an executed design by Mr. Wright for Ward Greiner at 2617 Taliesin Drive, Kalamazoo. A long time ago, when I saw it, I doubted it to be a Wright design. When I stood there doubting, the owners left by car, stopped beside me, and told me that it was initially a Wright design, but that...

Maybe a hand might fit through the openings to change the light bulbs, but how to install the sockets remains a problem. The three rows of openings look only taller because of the absent horizontal joints: the standard brick courses continue left and right of the openings. What's the effectiveness o...

There are indeed light bulbs behind the brick screen. See: https://lamodern.com/frank-lloyd-wright-sturges-residence/page-1-frank-lloyd-wright-sturges-residence/ High to reach up from the cellar through the 'heating flue' (behind the wooden door) to change the light bulbs? And could there be some 'f...
