Should I send flowers ?
I believe etiquette dictates a Frank Lloyd Wright tie as the appropriate gift.

In my work, I have to use both ecosystems. In my experience, programs in the apple universe have just as many problems as programs in the PC universe. And just as many illogical and time-wasting steps. My feeling some days after work is something along the lines of, "a pox on both their houses....

My gosh was that last home a fun fiasco. How sure are we that the video was shot by a real estate agent, and not a neighborhood stalker?

I'll second the suggestion for portable screens. I thought our fireplaces were deep enough that embers wouldn't be a problem. Mrs. Wrighter disagreed, and got a nice "I told you so moment" when two large embers later popped out, quickly burning holes in the upholstery. The portable screens...

Jones working with a triangular module!

Says it is being sold "as is," which suggest condition issues. But the house hasn't been painted, interior or exterior (something of a miracle). Built ins seem intact, and some original free-standing furniture.

Smells like a bargain . . . .

Hi philndz I'm in the St. Louis area also, and his homes come up for sale semi-frequently. These are good opportunities to see his work firsthand. His homes also come up rather regularly on house tours; these may give you some inspiration for your own project. Washington University also has his arch...

That tale might be in one of the Storer entries on the house. But I've definitely read it somewhere--the stairs were meant to double as seats for students. I think that was also the explanation for the carpeting? But I'm not as positive of that.

I think those horizontal ribs are beautiful. But they don't seem to be resting comfortably with the brick fireplace, especially near the ceiling. There doesn't seem to be any relationship between the two elements. Perhaps it's just a poor photo angle.

DRN--I had the same reaction at the house: This reminds me a lot of Wright, but I don't think Wright would have done it precisely the way. There are seemingly small things, like the mitered windows at triangular points. In Wright, you feel the windows would have met at the point of the triangle. Her...
