Intrinsic or not, lets just say that if FLlW had actually built the Unity Temple before he died it would be a built FLlW work and a valued, unquestionable, undisputed and accepted part of the Taliesin experience, would it not? There might have been criticism, retrospection, second guessing (i.e. Mon...

With all due respect Roderick . . 1.) Per FLlW's drawings, the new Unity Temple building was designed to be built west of the original Lloyd Jones Unity Chapel. The new was never meant to replace the old. 2.) FLlW obviously didn't seem concerned. Wasn't the Guggenheim aesthetically disruptive to its...

FYI, Phil H. Feddersen is mourning the passing of his wife so it might not be appropriate to contact him for awhile. They were married almost 65 years.

Thank you Frederik. I'm aware of that book and looked for copies to purchase. Unfortunately, no bookstore in the US could obtain it for me. Any ideas?

Hopefully one day someone will publish a monograph of this little known man's creative life work. IMHO, it is certainly deserving!

Again, someone else putting out there that Wright did not design the so-called "Taliesin ensemble line." If it's opinion (which you are entitled to) please state it so; otherwise cite some semblance of proof please because I'm not aware of any research or scholarship that states that Wrigh...

Craig . . I'm really curious how you came to your conclusion? Just your opinion, or solid research?

I think they are going the same direction as the Preservation Trust's "Wright Angles" - more current, more about the present and future than the past, etc. A total editorial shift in approach, both in look as well as substance. They (the post-Lucas folks) most likely listened to consultant...

Lets hope what happened with the Hoffman Showroom in NYC doesn't happen to the V. C. Morris Gift Shop!!!!! (And, by the way, I heard recently that the Hoffman Showroom space still hasn't been rented, so the urgency to demolish-to-rent didn't pan out like the r-t b-----d realtors thought it would.)

Thank you all for your positive comments re: The Architecture of Alfred Browning Parker: Miami's Maverick Modernist. The book was a 18 year labor of love. His work is certainly deserving of the attention and I hope I did it, and him, justice. Mr. Parker was larger than life and is truly missed.

Meier Organic? Good question. (IMHO) Meier's spaces are oftentimes Wrightian. He just chooses to use a different grammar architecturally . . sort of a mixture of DNA from both Corbu and FLlW.

To my knowledge Ron, there are no wood beams or wood floors in the ADG Warehouse. Its entirely constructed of non-combustible materials (concrete and brick). And what exists in the first floor now was built in the early 1980's and designed by Jack Howe, not FLlW. No original "rooms" nor an...

To my knowledge, the ADG Warehouse never was used as a museum. But because of the lack of windows that is one use that actually might work. The question is would the region/community support such a use? As far as other uses are concerned, it could certainly be used as a self-storage warehouse (after...

It was designed as a utilitarian warehouse so no "interesting spaces." The first floor is somewhat different than the other floors as it is actually two levels (so at the front third it can be entered at ground level and the back two thirds the floor is raised to dock height for truck load...
