Very odd size and I do not like the look especially with the crackling on the surface but virtually all new houses here are using it.

One reason to leave Roman brick where it lay -- in the past -- is that a lot more labor (and mortar) is required to build a given wall . . . ? Perhaps a smaller-scaled structure would be the place to use this skinny brick, for multiple reasons: a compact house, or one with more glass than masonry ?...

I notice FLW used Roman brick on many old houses (pre 1940s) and then switched to what I believe is standard size (3 5/8 X 2 1/4 X 8) for usonians. Google has a program that connects the inside of buildings to street view allowing the user to walk around the location in full 360 imagery.
