Thanks SDR -Gorgeous pictures back in 2007 only emphasize the point that the slab should have retained it's original color- as an architect - you would think the Owner might have had more concern/care how the gray slab color would impact the atmosphere of the room - too bad...

Glore Residence - Lake Forest

Beautiful Usonian house but choosing to go with a new gray concrete floor versus recalling the cherokee red I think was unfortunate;

Simply put - Wright's architecture, and all great architecture, is the portal between one's spirit and God, with a capital "N"....

Great points SDR.. Curious of your opinion on the work of Tom Kundig? - one of my contemporary favorites. Certainly great design - no matter what label you put on it - and designed with principles that would make Wright proud... Architects John Lautner and Ray Kappe would be my choice for the origin...

Appreciate that feedback Roderick - I have posted a link to a video trailer for Biophilia - a ooncept which Wright would be flippantly joking how "scholars" have put a "scientific" twist on his timeless "from within outward" approach to design.. [http://vimeo.com/278745...

Biophilic

I recently came across the term biophlic design and was surprised it has never been mentioned on this site.
Anyone care to elaborate - it is organic design as a trendy new term for green architecture ...

I was not implying that there was any architectural relationship - just that
Wright had visited Portmeirion and indicated how he thought it was nicely done.

My point was - I am a fan of the Prisoner, and there always seems to be linkage to Wright and his long journey in life..

SDR

I meant to say it seems like there is always a connection to Wright within 6 degrees of separation. Just had a thought - regarding the Prisoner TV series - maybe Wright was the real number 1!!

I assume others remember this show?

The Prisoner

I have always been a fan of the Prisoner, filmed at Portmeirion, England, designed by Clough William-Ellis. Never knew until now that Wright visited the famous village. It always seems like there it 6 degree separation with the Master... http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/69/Portmeirionsquar...
