Re: "Auldbrass" (C. Leigh Stevens House) tour tickets available - Yemassee, SC

Re: YUKIO FUTAGAWA work

Not sure but I think most of the publications contain different photographs.
If you've got the money owning each work is not a waste.

Re: Arc de Triomphe

Chris says he understands it better in daylight.
I'll only ever see it in photographs.
The night shots changed my indifferent view of it.
I think it's powerful and foreboding now, day or night.

Arc de Triomphe

Chris Schroeer-Hermann / photographer
He's got a couple of these over on Flickr.
Makes me feel as though I understand this project for the first time. I doubt the daytime presence is close.

Re: Usonian gabled roof magic

Welcome. My guess is that you have some experience with construction because your questions don't strike me as typical of someone who is new to the work of Wright. Personally, I've found that answering the type of questions you pose here is one of the real pleasures of Wright studies. I compare it t...

I don't know, but I think that book came into use in architectural education through the studios of Lou Kahn at Penn.
... and I think Kahn was introduced to it by Anne Tyng.

A tall building really can't tip and fall like a tree unless it has an unusually tall, skinny base like the Citicorp Tower in NYC: https://nypost.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2020/10/citibank-building.jpg?quality=90&strip=all or possibly the Astor Hotel in Chicago: http://www.connectingthewindyci...

Re: NIST Final Reports on WTC1, WTC2, and WTC7

I accept the official reports from NIST on the failure of WTC1 and WTC2. ... I also accept that an unattended 4-6 hour fire could bring down a 44 story tall building (although in the immediate moment I can't remember how hot the temperature needs to be and for how long it needs to maintain in order ...

Back to reality - alas.
You got a view on WTC7?
I lean toward the Hulsey Report out of Fairbanks.
