This link was forwarded to me by Janey Bennett on Mark Mills 'Papers' in the Special Collections of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where they are now archived. http://www.kcet.org/arts/artbound/counties/san-luis-obispo/coastal-modern-mark-mills-architect.html The June Foster Haas House (1969) leads the w...

Mark Mills projects
I read that Mark Mills designed less than 40 projects. Is the only way to get a list of those projects from the Curator at the California University that now has his drawings?

The house was built and completed in 1958-59. See TIME link I posted. Thats 50 years. Forget your sloppy math and 60-70 years ago. Not the 1930's. Not the 1940's. 1959. see wikipedia under WILD BIRD and Nat Ownings. FLW Was NOT the architect on Wild Bird. instead it was low profile Genius named Mark...

Thank you Home theater for perhaps tolerating the passion on this site. I finally got to FallingWater in 2007, way after the renovation. i don't care is the place may have leaked like a sieve, I loved it. Everything. I would have put up with all of it as it was one w/ nature (just my opinion). I als...

I'll confirm but if I recollect correctly, A magnificent John Lautner house was purchased by a Priscilla Presley awhile back, pretty much gutted and re-done. She liked the site and the views. Then years later she sold it. Some stuff is worth preserving. In my opinion, Wild Bird. I do not believe the...

Please look at the name of this site - we are advocates, fans, followers, afficianados of FLW. We (I am ) also are advocates, fans, followers, afficianados of FLW disciples, specifically (in my case), those in THE TALIESIN LEGACY. That includes John Lautner, and of course, Mark Mills. I found this s...

myLiebermeisterAGG - thats why I posted those docs. I have found that you can always find an 'expert' to defend your opinion, just like the opposing side will. They found her. Probably alot easier for the historian 5 years AFTER Margaret's death. I read thru all of them. Given those deed restriction...

I don't blame him. Until yesterday's post I had no idea of hometheater or the 'team' involved with the re-do. Since hometheater has gone to such great lengths to defend his opinion, and has no comprehension of why I or some of the others may not completely agree, I am at a loss to understand why he ...

The “Wild Bird house similarly has strong associations with the lives of its owners, Nathaniel and Margaret Owings. Nationally, Nathaniel Owings was well-known for his association with the architectural firm of Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill, one of the most important firms in postwar United Sta...

myLiebermeisterAGG- you may be correct but I suspect some people who looked this over before it went to contract (after Margaret's death in 1999) realized it had 'potential' and 'good bones'. So they had the wherewithal to stay the course as you will see in these docs. It appears no expense was spar...
