The Michael Graves house might be worth a tour if the owners will allow. Fun to walk through but can't see living there. One of the potential builders of our wright-like home built it some years back and he took me through. Ended up selecting someone else though.
Not sure homes are Grave's thing.

Just this past weekend, I got a private tour of the Palmer House. What a treat. Has always been my favorite. It was right up there with our tour of Samara house with Dr. Christian. What gems. Introducing my kids to these homes hopefully will have a lasting impact on how they view architecture. (They...

What are the chances of touring Palmer house?
On my way to Ann Arbor with my daughter on a college visit. What are the chances to getting a tour of the Palmer house? (I know it’s in private hands and recently sold). Willing to give a nice donation for the opportunity. Any thoughts how to do this or just I just plan on a doing a drive by. :( O...

Love your house. Looks great in the snow. Makes the natural wood really pop. More pictures please. . . . Here is what we did in our bedroom to hide the tv --a built-in cabinet fitted under the ribbon windows. We flanked the tv cab with a cantilevered desk. We recently added more book shelves to the ...

On the topic of soaring/daring cantilevers--how do current building codes impact that design element? Extremely? Not at all? Our wright inspired home has a 18 foot cantiliver that did not prove problamatic for the tough inspections we have in our county. It was only a problem for the steel company ...

Here is what we did in our entrance way--after the stone was installed. The cabinet maker scribed the cantilevered bench to the stone and it works great for putting on shoes etc. Let me know if you want more detailed pictures. I had to the opportunity to sit and talk to Martha at her home in Rush Creek several years ago as she spun stories of meeting FLW and her early struggles to get Rush Creek started. She did not mention being a Taliesin student. She was quite a women and if you get a chance to see Rush Creek, it is qu...
