The Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Park Inn Hotel in Mason City was built on bad luck.



One hundred years of unprofitability and obsolescence, architectural bastardization and whitewashing had turned the landmark structure into a vessel for pigeon droppings and spray-paint graffiti.



A group is toiling to make that streak end by the hotel's centennial birthday in 2010.
