Alden B. Dow Sunday Movie Matinee
February 20th, 2-4pm, with refreshments. $15
Join us to launch “The Year of the Home� – a celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Alden B. Dow home.
Relax in the Alden B. Dow Home theatre and enjoy many of Mr. Dow’s personal 16mm films. Included are:
· The Wedding Trip (1931) – footage of Alden and Vada’s honeymoon travels.
· Children Growing (1935-37) – Dow children and those famous sheep dogs “Buzz and Fuzz�.
· Alden B. Dow House Construction (1940-50) – see the pond being dug and the home going up.
· Dow Test House (1963-64) – An experimental home constructed with sliding wall panels.
· Beach Blossom (1953) – a comic short created by Mr. Dow, with friends as cast members.
· Jack Frost (1934) – a classic silent cartoon, purchased by Mr. Dow for home entertainment.
· Spike Jones Sing-Along (1940) – sing along with Spike Jones and his City Slicker band.
For an additional $5, join us at 1pm for a tour of the home prior to the 2pm show.
