The stainless steel kitchen looks out of place. Eric is right: the addition of the swimming pool was ill-advised from a design point of view considering how crowded it makes the court yard (the only outdoor space available on the tight lot). But as a California amenity at this price, a pool is de rigueur. As to limiting decorative elements to Meso-American, Sowden is more Hollywood than Mayan, so mixing and matching isn't a real problem.
