peterm & hypno - thank you very much for posting the photos of Lamberson. The interior looks teriffic! The wood and the brick really work so well together. Love the ceiling variations and all of the lighting, too.

What a wonderful home you have!

an update on the progression of the furniture for the lamberson house. the hassocks have been completed and the half size models of the benches, dining tables, and occasional tables are finished. wrightchat's sdr did the shop drawings from the original plans, and stafford norris 111 made the models and will now build the full size versions.

Peter,
Love those triangular tables! Please explain the last photo in your slideshow. It looks like a dining room table, but I don't get the "lip".

the last photo shows the end of one of the five modular benches which will sit beneath the window wall. the fascia (lip) is to provide and edge to contain (2) 2' by 2' by 2" cushions per bench. without the cushions they could be used like coffee tables.

Way to go on the furniture. Are these based on the original drawings. The off-angle verticle supports are quite unusual...more dynamic than a lot of wright furniture.

deke-

thank you. they are all taken exactly from the drawings specific to the house. the hassocks i have seen in other houses, (check taliesin west) but i think the tables are unique to lamberson.

the low coffee table is a triangular version of the mossberg house coffee table, which i have never seen before.

Peterm,

Did I miss this or something? Did the drawings come with the house purchase or did you have to track them down? The work looks incredible and congrats on your upholstery find. This place will look fantastic when you put it all together. Keep those pictures coming!

craig-

the drawings (or i should say, fuzzy, reduced xerox copies of the furniture drawings) came with the house. taliesin gave me a somewhat clearer copy of the furniture sheet, which our very own sdr and i went through with a fine tooth comb. sdr was able to make sense of some of the inconsistencies, discrepancies, and sometimes mistakes in the originals and turn them into exact shop drawings.

these were then given to stafford norris 111 and he completed the first set, the dozen hassocks. he is a great woodworker, and is meticulous.

the upholstery i found (for $3.50 a yard!!!) at michael levine's here in l.a. they sometimes have unlabeled vintage stuff lying around. i bought the whole bolt (52 yards) so we should have enough later for the benches and maybe curtains, etc.

Oh Stafford Norris...that's who made them. Googled the name and he seems to do a lot of Wright work. Nice.
