I believe the angle of the roof is dictated by the roofing material chosen by Wright. A pitch of 4 in 12 is recommended by the Cedar Roof Manufacturer. Even then, Wright typically used 3-1/2 in 12.

Ah, yes, Serlin. One of the less well-known houses, which has some of the best stonework. Unfortunately, a former owner had so many cats that a substantial addition, propped up on one corner, as I recall, by a Lally column, was constructed just for their pleasure, and did some damage to the overall design. Yet a pleasant interior.
