The Wright Society® calls our attention to Curbed coverage of this event. Thanks to all . . .

Could there be more than a half-dozen Usonians with board-and-sunk-batten ceilings ?

The interiors in the photo set appear to be green-biased; either the color balance is off or the house has been treated to an ox-blood stain treatment -- and the decor has been carefully edited. Maybe all three ?

Neat to see the pics...some angles I had not seen before.
For the curious, these photos are of the original portion of the house:
#3 original living room
#4 original living room looking toward masonry "cubes"...the passage to the left of the fireplace was opened by Wright in the later '40's expansion, the wet bar to the right of the fireplace is an enclosed passage which led to the original entry.
#11 original master bedroom as altered/expanded by Wright in the later expansion project.
#13 terrace side of original living room, original bedroom wing is to the left...it would appear the long cantilevered trellis at the tip of the living room wing has been shortened; see plans here:

and photos here:

More sale pics here with a couple of new views:

#5 another angle of the original living room
#10 terrace view of the original bedroom wing exterior

The original Sondern living room looks to my eye as a more nuanced version of the Loren Pope living room...I love it.

I’ve been told the opening bid is $300,000. Who knows? Someone might get lucky!

Is Heritage Auctions (Dallas, TX) becoming a go-to place for Wrightiana ?

Ironic, if so, that the auction house should have come to our attention this year for its sales of multiple Wright works-on-paper---works whose provenance suggests that they were stolen from Taliesin while Mr Wright was still alive...

Puff, indeed.

This house was bequeathed to the Nelson-Atkins Museum by a previous owner, Richard Stern. The museum, befuddled as are most museums, couldn't figure out what to do with the bequest, and finally sold it back to Mr Stern's companion.
