Cool -- I'll look into it. Question one: who was the architect. The realtor seems to credit Joe Eichler for the design.

Bill -- what do you say ? That part of Diamond Heights looks a bit like Hurricane Gulch in Sausalito -- if with a somewhat less dramatic topography.

Someone appears to have added decorative tile to the 8x8x8 block chimney face.

Unless they specialize in Eichlers, I don't think the average realtor would even know that there were separate architects.

Claude Oakland was Eichler Homes's architect for the 100+ houses the company built on a tract it was awarded in the Diamond Heights community of San Francisco in the early 1960s. There were other developers for other locations.

Vernon DeMars earlier had designed the layout for the community. It was a San Francisco Redevelopment Agency project, controversial at the time and remaining so for decades.

Here is a link to one particular article that is quite informative, and it contains further links to other interesting articles:

Bill helpfully provided the information that, on the plot plan, 109 Amber would be the lot immediately above the A in the street name . . .

The subject property is the green house. I like that red/green pair a lot; I suppose it won't be that way too much longer ?

And here's a little piece found at the Eichler Network site, on the neighborhood.
