9" of rain fell on Montecito yesterday. At 2 AM, an avalanche of mud slid down Hot Springs Road, burying houses in 8 to 10 feet of mud, killing at least 13. The Stewart House at 196 Hot Springs Road may have been in the path.

Cruising Hot Springs Rd on Google, the 200s appear to be a half mile or more from the 300s. Hope that's good news . . .

"Some of the worst damage was on Montecito’s Hot Springs Road, where the unidentified girl was rescued and residents had been under a voluntary evacuation warning. Large boulders were washed out of a previously dry creek bed and scattered across the road."

Still looking for confirmation that the Stewart house was spared. The house is at the southern corner of the intersection of Hot Springs and Summit . . .

I find maps of the Thomas Fire, but none of the mudslide. Hot Springs Road turns sharply to the right at Olive Mill, so assuming the slide started in the hills, it would appear that Boyle's corner is safe.
