Paul Ringstrom knows a lot about Prairie-style architecture but I think his letter to Blair Kamin was snarky. I read the Chicago Tribune daily. Kamin does an excellent job covering architecture, historic preservation, and development. He does a lot to promote awareness of architecture and preservation. Not many newspapers still have an architecture critic. And, as for whether Emil Bach is the last Prairie house, Wright once considered Wingspread (1937) the largest, so it is theoretically the last, as well. Kamin made an error. Look at him in the greater context of his work, and cut him some slack. He thought enough to write a feature obituary about Bruce Brooks Pfeiffer two weeks ago. I am guessing few metro papers, other than Phoenix, did.

I believe that's right. Kamin's piece here I found to be sympathetic to architects, and to Wright, on the whole.

And, his Pfeiffer obituary was more than worthy, I think, if that's at issue . . .
