Yesterday, the worry was that a Tass photographer might bring to the Oval Office, and leave behind, bugging devices.

The lies concerning the Coney firing coming from Trump and his spokespeople grow by the minute:

Trump Tower covers a footprint approximately 100' square, which equals 10,000 sf per floor. Trump's apartment is three floors, which would indicate that it is around 30,000 sf. But he does not account for the setbacks or the common areas. For the setbacks, deduct 2700 sf per floor, leaving a total of 21,900 sf. Not sure how much common area there is. A tower that size would require 6 elevator shafts, all of which would go to the roof, no matter how many stopped at his apartment, assuming he has his own passenger and service elevators. Then there is the space occupied by two sets of emergency stairs, leaving the net area at about 19,500 sf by my rough estimates, not as big as he claims, but big enough for a family of 3.

Obstruction of justice? Since we have no reason to believe anything coming from Trump or his spokespersons anymore, I'm going with The FBI director. Comey was smart in keeping a paper trail:

https://mobile.nytimes.com/2017/05/16/us/politics/james-comey-trump-flynn-russia-investigation.html

"An F.B.I. agent’s contemporaneous notes are widely held up in court as credible evidence of conversations."

I too was disappointed when I heard the USCGA graduation speech, and thought it was missed opportunity. Graduation addresses are supposed to be inspiring, high minded, thoughtful, and maybe mixed with a little humor. This was all about the President and his problems. He wasn't addressing the graduates, he was diverting his attention from congratulating and imparting wisdom to the graduates to venting to the press and his constituents. The graduates of the Coast Guard Academy deserved better than this.

"Crazy...nut job...showboat...grandstander?" Who comes to mind?

http://www.newyorker.com/news/john-cassidy/trump-or-comey-whos-the-real-nut-job-here

Trump has been a huge hit in Saudi Arabia, arguably the most repressive regime in the world. The President of Egypt was feeling the love, too. From the New York Times:

" ...Mr. Sisi was effusive in his praise of the American president: “You are a unique personality that is capable of doing the impossible.”

“I agree!” Mr. Trump responded cheerily, as laughter rolled through the room.

A few moments later, Mr. Trump returned the compliment, in a fashion. “Love your shoes,” he told Mr. Sisi. “Boy, those shoes.”...

“One of the things that we will discuss is the purchase of lots of beautiful military equipment because nobody makes it like the United States,” he told the emir of Qatar..."

Jobs, jobs, jobs...

One hopes that some one of the many journalists covering this Administration will report a running tally of how many jobs are actually created by Mr Trump's actions.

I watched this happen live on tv today, but was sure I had not seen properly. It turns out that I don't need new glasses:
