Superb book. I got my copy for $100 without the slipcover.

The drawings are meticulous, including plans, double foldouts of elevations, many sections, decorative details, and even a measured drawing of the famous urn. The photography is post-war, but includes images taken from times when the hotel was still in use, as well as after the business was closed, prior to its demolition.

I'd never known of this book before.
Good to get a description.

I don't recall ever seeing it in American bookstores. I got mine by mail from Japan.
What little text there is, is in Japanese, though all captions are in both Japanese and English.

John Geiger was set to order a book for himself, and asked if I would like one, so I gave him the money, and he took care of the details. Unfortunately, such things as the name and address of the publisher, if included at all, are in Japanese, so I don't know how you would find that information. Also, the book, hard copy 1972, came out soft-bound in 1994, so I can imagine it may be hard to find. Kathryn Smith is the only other person I know who has one. Perhaps Geiger's copy can be viewed in his archive?
