Found this fascinating video on Bruce Goff, and thought I'd share. It is well worth the 50 minutes. Does anyone know anything about this video? |

What a great find. Thank you !
The very last images are of Goff's Japanese Art Building at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. It was being built at the time of his death, in 1982. I haven't seen this building...

After Goff died, Bart Prince took over the building of the Pavilion For Japanese Art at LACMA. That was fortunate; Bart has a deep sympathy for and understanding of Goff's work. Other than a simplification of the superstructure of posts and guy wires, the building was completed as Goff designed it.
LACMA hasn't had a good record when it comes to architecture, but in this instance, when redoing Pereira's design with the dreadful HHP cannibalization, Goff survived untouched, as, seemingly, he will when the next affront to the discipline by Zumthor will spill across Wilshire. |
