This property makes the case for how the design of a Wright house, in particular, a Usonian house, is informed by and responds to its surrounding garden and nature. The connection has been lost by the later adjacent addition. It lost its mojo.

But who in their right mind would buy this property at that price, and then tear down the gargantuan addition?

A billionaire with taste and an understanding of needs vs. wants....or a middle aged NJ architect and Wright homeowner if he won an extremely large PowerBall pot.

It would be easier to buy the whole thing, move the original house to a new lot and add something appropriate to the large wing to finish it off. It is not all that bad on its own. That would be the only way to save Thaxton.
