I was curious to see it labeled the "Archeseum". That led me to do a little research and find this:

On the page linked I found this---a mystery within a mystery. Where is the pencil, and what is it (the pencil) for ?

You put the ball in the upper square, it drops to the bottom square, which allows you to open the box. You receive a pencil for your effort.

Heh. Now if only I knew that for a fact . . . !

Maybe the pencil (not shown) pushes the ball out of its hole, from the back ?
