This is a great house, especially for entertaining.
It should be noted that the reduced price includes all new loggia, gallery, and children's bedroom windows/French doors rebuilt and installed per the original drawings in Spring 2018. Glazing in rebuilt windows is double-pane thermal. The glazing detail on the original house per the original drawings and hence its rebuilt units, is not wood glazing stops, but rather glazing compound. The 2000's Tarantino build-out of the Wright designed, but not originally built master bedroom suite uses Wright's wood stop glazing method for some unknown reason.

Considering the 7+ acre lot, this is not an unreasonable price. One only hopes the buyer doesn't do to this property what has been done to Johnny Hill's masterpiece in Cincinnati, with the 'excess' land bulldozed into submission for an entire neighborhood of houses.

Indeed. The area is very desirable for the "landed gentry". The lot has some steep slopes, the convergence of two springs/creeks, and some wetland, but multiple houses could still conceivably be sited. The local practice on other similar lots along Jockey Hollow Road to this point has been to maintain the woods as much as possible amid new construction on shared drives rather than dedicated streets as at Ohio.

Here's hoping...

DRN provides some photos of the house, and a sales sheet "produced when the Christie's sold the house in the late 1940's, with good original condition pictures."
