Frankly, if people aren't sharp enough to realize they haven't turned off their car, they should be losing their license ...

Oak Park had this figured out as far back as 1904 when they denied the construction of the garage FLW designed in the basement of the Cheney House.

The attached garage, however, is more of an aesthetic violation than a gaseous threat. For as many decades as attached garages have been popular, the dangers have never been much of a problem.

No necessarily a bad idea but a carbon monoxide detector is a better one.

In the ever-pressing quest for more efficient internal-combustion vehicles, some cars now turn off their engines automatically at stop-lights. Why it is thought
necessary or desirable to allow the same cars to idle for even a minute after being parked, much less a half-hour or all night, escapes me.
