The firm of Keck and Keck designed a lot of Midwestern houses. Does anyone know what influence Wright may have had on them? I have been through a few Keck houses. The houses could be described as organic, and very livable.

Funny enough, many Wright inspired architects have designed much more livable houses than Wright ever designed. No doubt, Wright SOMETIMES put other considerations above livability.

If you google Keck and Keck, a few good sources will come up.

Keck and Keck were influenced by FLW. As evidence, look at the 1930-1950s houses. Glenview, IL has a few. There are other houses along Chicago's north shore. I think of Keck and Keck as combining the best of European modern and organic design.

I dislike their later work. Yuck.

As for the livability, I think Wright pushed technology. Sometimes the owners suffered.

There are lot of good architects out there to study. So have fun.

Good luck.

Yes. Into the 70s, their work was lacking.
