This is by far the most interesting dining room of the Prairie period. The clerestory windows are an especially brilliant detail. It is so nice that it has been preserved intact with its original table, though I think the pull chains should have been kept as well.

The cause of the leaky roof was due to the main beam of the house to being undersized from the construction drawing specifications and subsequent breaches of the beam by the electricians. this caused the flat roof over the dining room area to deflect toward the house.Paul Ringstrom wrote: ↑Tue Mar 26, 2013 2:18 pmI seems that if the house had not been acquired and restored by the current owners that the house would not have survived another ten years.

For those who have not seen it, and who have access to the SF Bay Area's KQED public television, "Frank Lloyd Wright’s Boynton House: The Next Hundred Years" will be shown on Saturday, January 30, 9 AM to 10 AM, KQED+, channel 9.2. It's well worth it.

Since KQED is a PBS station, the film will undoubtedly play all over the country. We have 4 PBS stations in the LA area. If you miss it the first time, there will be 20 reruns shortly to follow.
