Designed in 1961 by Alden B. Dow, a taliesen-associated architect.

It's a beautiful home, with gorgeous wood detailing and brick flooring situated at the end of a cul de sac with the Chippewa River along the North and West sides of the property. It was listed on Friday morning and an offer was accepted the following Monday. I had actually expressed interest in the home, but decided to move on, feeling too much overhead in the cost of "un-renovating" and masonry work, and it just felt like too much overall space for me, but still a beauty, and hopefully whoever does buy the home can give it the care and attention it deserves.

Alden Dow was surely not a one-note Johnnie. He played many instruments in the architectural orchestra, as demonstrated once again with this essay, in a sort of MCM-minimalist timbre---deploying, as before, a rich material palette as a foil to the elemental forms and details, the richest of these being a Usonianesque roof fascia.
