Not so, Duncan. I worked for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles for a year, doing their books. They own property all over the city, mostly left to them in the wills of deceased laypersons, residential, commercial, vacant. Not one of them paid a cent in property tax. But perhaps things have changed since the 80s.
