The so-called dream house---a confection reminiscent of Wright's early work---stuck me at first glance as embodying three elements characteristic of, among other things, Wright's (very
early) Unity Chapel in Spring Green: a prominent stone base rising to window-sill height; wood-sided walls with connected windows resting upon that base; and a prominent hipped roof.

What weighs down Dream House is the massiveness and complexity of the roof, extending way too far out. The design of the chapel is much more elegant, in spite of the steep roof. Also, it was designed by Silsbee.

There's a quote in that article I wish I could staple to the forehead of every person contemplating yet another McMansion:
"The priority of a house is to honor the family within," says Rattenbury, "not to impress the neighbors."

The original plans have a red stamp on each page verifying an authentic copy. Without that red stamp it not considered authentic.

I suspect most people interested in the drawing set are not seeing them as collectibles, but rather as difficult to acquire construction documents from which to build a house.
