one of the Flaws in the model is the Siding. The siding is one thing that gave me a problem and I fixed it 4 or 5 times and still turned out with it messed up. I did render it as accurate as possible.

This is the final product of what was a 4 day adventure of building virtual replica of Shiprock. I feel like grabbing some Champaign and christening this wonderful house. If you don't have Sketchup,in my own personal opinion, I recommend anyone to get it just to view the Model. I am very glad for the help of SDR who helped me make it as accurate as possible and to a friend of mine,rderskine, who helped make the furniture. Without these people I could have never done this so my thanks goes out to them. The on the model description I might have a few things off and will probably need some help with that if anybody has any suggestions I will be happy to oblige.

According to Storrer, and (partially) verified in Curtis Bessinger, the house was designed in 1938-9, built in 1940, and burned in 1942.

The house, not just the ruin, was named Shiprock. It might be more accurate to refer to the clients as the Pauson sisters; "the Pausons" implies a
married couple, I think.

I wholeheartedly agree with your comments about FLW's female clients and the works that resulted, and I think this is a fascinating topic that deserves more study and discussion. A couple of other Wright commissions that immediately came to mind when I read your post are the Isabel Roberts Residence, as well as Graycliff for Isabelle Martin, and I'm sure ther are other outstanding examples.

Two other outstanding projects for female clients by FLW associated architects would be the Grace Miller Residence in Palm Springs by Richard Neutra, and the Taggart Residence in LA by Lloyd Wright. And let's not forget that although the client of record for that famous museum on Fifth Avenue in NYC was a man by he name of Solomon Guggenheim, the true client was really a woman by the name of Hilla Rebay.

There is more architecture per square foot in the Grace Miller Residence in Palm Springs than any other architectural work that I have been in. It is modest in size without being cramped. The massing was progenitor for the Neutra's masterpiece the Kaufman House. It is really wonderful and well suited to the desert. The base shoe is straight frank Lloyd Wright verbatim.

Other great female clients for FLW would include his sisters for the Romeo and Juliet Windmill. Mamah (Martha) Borthwick Cheney and Susan Lawrence Dana also come to mind.

Worst female client hands down was Mrs. McCormick who scuttled McCormick Mansion in Lake Forest circa 1907. What a missed great opportunity that was.

Well done. The sun is in the right location for that view. We just to find a vantage point where the carport doesn't screen the house.
