Post pandemic, I will be accepting a work assignment in Japan (fingers crossed by fall 2021).
I am looking for good resources about Japanese architecture. I'll keep the question open ended.
In advance, thank you!

Well, as a random kick-off, here are two resources on the subject, about and from very different times, but both from MoMA in New York.

I'd look up anything on Antonin Raymond's work, and Kenzo Tange.

A current architect of interest is Tadao Ando (1941-). There are books about his work, which tends toward monumental in concrete. One of his more modest efforts is a small Tokyo house of exquisite proportions. In this country, he designed the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.

Thanks all!
I contacted a few Japanese firms for guidance. If I come across anything interesting, I'll share it here (pending permission).

Look at the work of Tokenobu Mohri a Japanese architect who studied Organic Architecture under Bruce Goff at the University of Oklahoma in the mid 1950's

How exciting! I hope it happens for you, and keep us posted.
Antonin Raymond effectively bridged the worlds of Le Corbusier and Wright. (Bet you didn’t think that was possible?!)
Definitely Ando.
But check out Kengo Kuma, too. He is currently one of the most important.
