I saw Spike Jones at the Minnesota State Fair in the mid-50s. His act was hilarious. Not unlike Olson & Johnson's "Hellzapoppin," although not quite so "poppin."

You can find a video of him working. Very handy with that pistol ! Like any dedicated maker, he's all concentration when on the job . . .
These two cuts are on a ten-inch disc that was in my home as a kid. I doubt I'd have heard of him, otherwise. I know the car race by heart, of course.
