Joseph Mollica House
Hi friends, today I have seen some pictures of the Mollica house, I have never heard about this house before. Could someone tell us something about this house and share pictures, plans, etc.?

Mollica is an Erdman Prefab #1. The plan is close to the standard middle class suburban houses of the '50s with some nice touches to set it apart. There is an exterior shot in Weintraub/Hess' "FLW MCM" page 299. While interiors are not shown in that book, interiors of the similar LaFond House in Minnesota are featured on pages 302 to 305. Plan in Storrer Companion, #411.1.

(Juan keeps us on our toes !) Here's William Allin Storrer on the Erdman Prefab #1. Read carefully; many of your questions will be answered in this intro:

Then, here's Storrer's last two entries in the Erdman #1 section, for the Mollica and LaFond houses:

Re: Joseph Mollica House
Unfortunately, neither of Storrer's texts answers all myquestions:
What units are prefabricated off-site, and how large is the largest piece ? Roofs ? Walls ? Floors ?
If the LaFond house "is constructed with standard concrete block," does that mean that it hasn't stud walls ? What is its exterior finish---the block, or the Masonite ?

wow... you are the library..!!! thanks... Good questions. I'm agree with the idea of... what is sense of build a prefabricated house if it won't reduce cost significantly?SDR wrote: ↑Sat Oct 17, 2020 6:25 pm(Juan keeps us on our toes !) I strongly suggest that anyone using this forum invest in the Storrer book or books or at least the Heinz books. They all have a complete list of Wright works as well as descriptions, drawings and photographs.
"...what is sense of build a prefabricated house if it won't reduce cost significantly?"
That is exactly why there aren't more Wright prefabs!

Do you know if the complete monographs are still available? I'm from Ecuador and is really hard to find architecture books, I found some years ago The complete Works No 3 (Taschen) and it costs more than 700 usd !!!John wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 7:18 pmI strongly suggest that anyone using this forum invest in the Storrer book or books or at least the Heinz books.
