The brief glimpse of the stairwell reminds me that, of all the spaces in the house, we've seen less, in photo and film, of this uniquely vertical element than almost any other.

Among the numerous and varied synonyms for "organic" that have passed Mr Wright's lips over time, "entity" strikes me as particularly helpful: to conceive of a building as a unified entity, a thing whole, and wholly consistent with itself, seems from the evidence to have been a prime directive, for him.

In the short video shot in Darwin Martin's home office, Mary Roberts mentions the Japanese woodblock print that is found there, and the camera gives this glimpse of the print. It would be swell to get a proper look at that artwork.

Has anyone produced an illustrated enumeration of the art presently on view at the house ?
