Am I seeing HVAC floor grilles at approximate 1/3 intervals transversely across the room? If so, what year do they date from?

At the start of the video at the left there's a shelf passing through a glass partition which has a hole in it. There was always a round vase or urn on the shelf intruding through the hole. Always assumed this unique detail was by Wright and curious about its absence.

It was a FLW detail. Now it is just a pane with a hole in it.

That's absurd, I thought quite contextual and one of the most memorable takeaways from my first visit!

Yes, there are two such holes and some type of Urn used to be placed one in each.
I contend that's where their ashes were "hidden" - in front of everybody.
But I'm a conspiracy theorist.

The "holes" in the glass partitions were cut to enclose two Oriental vases ... both half-in and half-out. One faced into the Garden Room, and the other into the Dining Alcove.

In this video the Bodhisattva most recently found standing on the table in the far corner of the Garden Room is also missing. It's entirely possible that these items were intentionally removed for some reason. We can only hope they are somewhere safe.

It must have been shortly before my quick ricochet at T-West in 1962 that the dragon was installed. After the tuxedoed gathering in the Garden Room, on the way to the Music Pavilion for dinner and entertainment, Olga stopped at the dragon and had the fire lit for a moment. It really was quite impressive. Olga was right about fire vs. water. The shrubbery wasn't there at the time.

I hope restoration will convert the glazed porch back into a screened, canvas-roofed porch, and all the post-FLW fuss beyond the moon gate gets deleted. I may be wrong, since I wasn't looking for details at the time, but I seem to recall that the very long trellis adjacent to the drafting room was still wood, and that Wes had to stoop all the way to make it through. The steel may be more sensible, but it looks unfriendly.
