Brief, but excellent tour by an obviously knowledgeable docent.

Very nice---delightful, in fact. Two days old as we speak . . .

Can anyone believe that Wright's finishers would have left his plaster walls in that state ? Color, texture---dear dear. But the house has been rescued, and we're grateful for that ! The bed is not Wright---but it'a a lot closer than a Grand Rapids piece would be. Perhaps it's temporary. Hey, I didn't contribute one cent to this restoration, so who am I to kvetch ?

I agree that the paint job is a trifle jarring. Dana did a much better job.

The Westcott Bird House looks more avian-friendly than the Martin Bird Houses.

Despite claims to the contrary, the Westcott urns are a step backward in the evolution of the type, it seems to me. From the start, these exterior planter bowls were decidedly horizontal in form and emphasis. Why Mr Wright would decide, near the end of the decade, to revert to a form that could have been designed by some other architect less dedicated to the Prairie ideal, is a mystery to me.
