This house is just across the street from Tomek, which is behind the big tree at right in the third photo. Some say Silsbee was imitating Winslow here.

130 (?) Nuttall Rd, Riverside. The split-face stone trim, including irregular quoining, is notable. Tomek is across Bartram Rd, to the right of the house as seen in the first photo. Evidence of a Wright influence is strong.

It would be interesting to see a Joseph Lyman Silsbee versus Frank Lloyd Wright tome to trace the influence the former had on the latter, and vice versa.
An exhaustive examination would, I believe, find that Silsbee had more influence on FLW than Sullivan did.
This is truly a beautiful house inside, Victorian though it may be.

The fireplace end of the living room displays a room-width "inglenook" that, like Wright's work, emphasizes an expansive horizontality. It appears in two photos.

Upstairs in the master bedroom, we have this description:

"The master bedroom fireplace is the work of Drummond. Originally it closely resembled the living room fireplace, Vijay Palani said, but Drummond was
brought in to give it a then-fashionable Prairie Style look as he made other changes to the master bedroom and sitting room. He dropped the mantel and
made a rectilinear composition punctuated with globe lights. The original brick fireplace designed by Silsbee is probably still there behind the redo, she said."

I like everything William Drummond did, including the fireplace in the bedroom, but it doesn't belong there.
It clashes with Silsbee's design, and therefore it is out of place. Better to restore Joe's work.

I’m Under contract to buy this home. Drummond fireplace is staying! We feel it is part of this home’s story now.
