It is good to hear that AD German will survive and thrive. Being so close to Taliesin, it will be an invaluable stop on the Grand Tour.

I tried in vain to rustle up interest in making it the headquarters for FLWBC, but too many Conservancy members are urbanites. There was no interest.

It would be interesting if part of the restoration and renovation included building one of the apartments planned for the top floor.

Oh, I'd like to see that. The original fourth-floor plan doesn't indicate a residence, though there's some scribbling on the published cyanotype that might have referred to partitions.

The lettering on this drawing set is the most illegible that ever saw the light of day on a Wright CD. It appears the drawing was ink on linen, judging by the texture of the reproduction ?

The plan for remodeling German, including the apartments, is in Mono 5/158-161. There were to be 8 bachelor units plus a 2-bedroom in the annex. Tasch 1/245 shows only a restaurant on the main floor.

Oho. Someone should model that residence added to the annex . . .

Here's the file on the German Warehouse additions of 1935, from Monograph 5.
