The motif of the Sydney Opera House seems to me to have been "inspired" by some of the tiny expressionist sketches Erich Mendelsohn made as a soldier in W.W.I. Architects are terribly adept at stealing ideas.

Many thanks to Kevin for posting this lovely house by Aaron Green. To my eye, it's more appealing and sensible than Wright's nearby "Honeycomb" house. Sometimes the pupil surpasses the master.

Wright also has a cigarette in the excellent portrait for the great Jan. 1938 issue of Architectural Forum. Remember that he made little of Louis Sullivan for his "depending on tobacco." Such petty hypocrisy! Besinger said FLlW hid behind buildings to grab a smoke, like some adolescent.

Wright's portrait parade is a good show. Probably he looks most dapper at 23 with a mustache, sitting on his front porch.
