Great house! I'm with you guys on adding color with furnishings. Back in the 90's, I had a contemporary 4 story house in Chicago which was painted all white. It was a fun challenge to decorate. Lots of Asian touches. I love the floors. How did you seal them? Will maintenance be an issue with all the...

Boy, I was not feeling the love looking at this house. The interior stone work is funky to put it nicely, the ceiling is oppresive, the furniture in the vintage photo was very primative and the fireplace in the photo was not very nice as well. The exterior is also unatractive. What an incredible dif...

Please note that the studio at Glore, which was added to what was apparently a tool shed, had perforated boards. These are different from the main houses boards. Their design is inelegant and were probably designed to deal with the different dimensions of the studio. It is too bad because the origin...

The Socfield product we used was a powder which is applied to the wet concrete and worked into the very top layer. It may not be a stain per se. After the concrete cures, a Scofield sealer is applied with a buffing machine. It has been years but I believe that the sealer had the same red tint as the...

Careful with the Murphy's Oil Soap on wood where the finish may have worn off in spots. The wood may discolor or prevent true refinishing.

Good luck with your house. It will be a source of great joy from the moment you first entered until the day you leave.
