FLLW Grids
I was wondering: I know of Wright's usage of grids during the Usonian era - 2x4, 4x4, etc. -- and his usage of a grid in the Coonley house -- considered the first zoned house; did Wright use grid systems prior to Coonley/throughout the Prairie years? The two images have a 3'-6" grid, but, are reprod...

Is the story that Barnsdall asked for the hollyock motif documented? This book I have on Hollyhock [including Unity and Johnson Wax] doesn't mention much about if Aline specified the motif; however, Wright's prelims of Hollyhock are interesting to note in that they don't have the idea of the motif ...

Speaking of the Mile High, there was an 80's proposal for Chicago on par with it: The Miglin-Beitler Skyneedle, Chicago, 610 m, 125 floors. http://archiv.neviditelnypes.zpravy.cz/architek/0805b.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u110/vietmusique/buildings/m-b_2.jpg http://img397.imageshack.us/im...

His education-related buildings are interesting -- especially when it's comprised of Mayan-revival --, and I was wondering if any plans were published of the Fraternity, or the Rosenwald school project. http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/9900/frater...
