Here was an unbuilt -- I think -- in Michigan for Parkwyn Village. No other posts have mentioned it. http://historical.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=629&lotNo=25649 http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/6268/wardgreiner3.jpg http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/4881/wardgreiner2.jpg http://img189.imageshack.us/i...

Can anyone post the Gillen plan? It's fascinating in its size for a Usonian.

And if I recall correctly, Louis Sullivan didn't drop out of Le Ecole des Beaux-Arts - he sat for the test, but didn't get in. Sullivan was accepted; he learned enough French within 6 weeks to pass the spoken questions portion. He did quit; not for lack of appreciation for the history of architectu...

Not only has a Wright house been used before in a car ad, but, the Affleck house has been used in a car ad before.

I'm surprised Belly of an Architect hasn't been mentioned: an architect [played by Brian Mannion Dennehy] sets out to plan his master exhibition on Boullee and has personal discovery along the way.

Although I am too lazy to look through the book right now, FLW - The Lost Years details the history of Wright's infatuation with the Mayan-revival, and design aspects of it.

Broadacre City

I was wondering: what is the definitive publication on Broadacre City, plan wise [floor plans of buildings]? I've checked out The Living City from the library, and, while it has plans I've not seen before, I feel it lacks more -- maybe that's me. http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/7880/usonianconcre...

http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/1918/livingroomp.jpg Although this is still missing from the Hollyhock renovation, I contacted the caretaker -- or historian, or something or rather -- who overlooks Hollyhock, and they hadn't any idea about the color of the material of the drape, nor the material...

Another question, did Wright draw more dome designs? or is this the only one
Wasn't there a drawing of the Jester house with a dome over the lounge area? Might've been differently named, but, same plan.

I recall watching something talking about the mesh design -- or what have you -- used in the concrete pillars of S.C. Johnson were modeled after the cactus' membrane structure.

The All Souls was, probably, the precursor to the Abraham building.

As this article notes, the client [Rev. Jenkin Lloyd Jones] had a church called All Souls.

I just felt it was quite out there for FLLW, considering his pensiveness for classical architecture.
