So, was Wright's art glass an element he left behind with the prarie school? Did he approve of Kraus's work or was it added after his death?

SDR: thank you for rephrasing my query, I was indeed asking for opinions on a " best built or sturdiest Wright structure".

Does any Wright structure stand out Structurally?

"Well so much for defending Wright. I stand corrected. I guess the AEC post meant sustainable in the literate sense - still standing after 100 years?" That post on the Wild Bird thread had me wondering: is there any building of Wright's that is unsung structurally? Wright is often criticized for lea...

Hmm... Im a newbie, but I really haven't seen white drywall in anything called Usonian. I guess anything with an open floorplan is "Wright inspired". :/ What's next, a Usonian single wide trailer?

"But rather than allowing this type of thing, they have a history of keeping a very tight and lawyerly reign on as many things Wright-associated as they are able to." Understandable, I suppose but truly sad. I would really enjoy a Wright furniture DIY book. Keeping an iron grip on all things Wright ...

Recommendations for a good source for Wright furniture?

I wanted to ask for opinions from those on the board. Are there any good books that feature details of Wright furniture? A quick search has revealed two books by Tomas Heinz: FLW Furniture Portfolio and FLW Interiors and Furniture. The former is fairly affordable while the latter is more expensive. ...

design your own navajo rug or FLLW perf board?

http://www.statemuseum.arizona.edu/activities/symmetry/dsgn_yr_own.shtml I came across this site while web-surfing today. I thought that it might be a neat little tool for those of us who are artistically challenged. I must have been surfing under the influence of one of Palli's posts on Perf board...

AAC blocks are light, they can be cut easily with power tools and have more insulating value than regular concrete. I wonder if a textile block like effect could be achieved? One serious drawback is that they are fragile and would require some kind of protective coating. Langdon

I'm just beginning my architecture education. One sad aspect of it is I'm rapidly learning how much we have lost. I've lost count of how many times the word demolished has appeared on the sites I've surfed. An insult is added to injury when what replaces a unique work is nothing more than an extra l...

Does anyone have insights regarding the Bruce Brooks Pfeiffer house? The Jester House is a personal favorite of mine, and I am curious as to whether the legacy project was a successful realization of Wright's design. I have seen the photos on Storrer's site, but was curious as to the opinions of peo...
