Are those bolt holes on the back of the piece? I can't imagine that such a shoddy method of construction would be acceptable on that type of chair, if it were genuine.

An alternative venue besides Kickstarter might be a better fit. Indiegogo seems pretty open and less restrictive.

Facebook west designed by Gehry

Facebook "Likes" New Gehry Office Plan: The social network has tapped Frank Gehry to design a cantilevered, non-hierarchical new office dubbed Facebook West for its San Francisco Bay campus, which will consist of one giant quarter mile-long, 10-acre (420,000-square-feet) room. "Mark [Zuckerberg] sai...

help with the dimensions of the jester project

According to an online source the diameter of the "living room" drum of the jester project is 26' is this correct? working off the floor-plan in Sergeant's "FLW Usonian Houses" I come up with a planning grid of 4.3 ft. If this is correct the bathroom would be truly small about 6 ' square. I'm simply...

Help with client -book thread

I am purchasing " Building with Frank Lloyd Wright an illustrated memoir" by Herbert Jacobs, and I was looking for other "client" books dealing with building a Wright house. I'm certain I remember a thread dealing with this very topic, but for the life of me i cant find it. Any help would be appreci...

I would have to also vote for Berger I love the compact service core and the living room. A close second would be the Bazett house somehow the hexagonal adaption of the Jabobs plan is very intimate and appealing to my tastes.

differing siding on the oboler buildings?

On the Wright section of the triangle modernist website, if you scroll about 1/2 way down the photos there is a photo of one of the Oboler Property buildings with diagonally oriented wooden boards. Does anyone know if this was intended by Wright or a later addition by the Obolers?. Most of the other...

Does anyone know if the proposed Leob project was changed in anyway from the Jester house concept? Im simply curious as to whether or not Wright made any concessions at all to the differing climate in Connecticut vs California. I love the Jester house design, but living in "room drums" in the Northe...
