Cooke House website

If you've not been, the site on the Andrew and Maude Cooke House is worth a visit. We had the pleasure of being afternoon guests of the Duhls four years ago. The house is a gem and situated in an enviable location in Virginia Beach. Enjoy!

MUIRHEAD FARMHOUSE B&B

A highlight of our recent vacation was a bed-and-breakfast stay at Muirhead Farmhouse in Hampshire, Illinois - not far from Chicago. Granddaughter Sarah (Muirhead) and husband Michael Petersdorf host guests in this 1950 rural Usonian. It is wonderful that this house is still in the family and has be...

Perf Workshop at PTAC

Palli Davis Holubar led a fascinating workshop last Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the Price Tower Arts Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. This included an overview of her research on Wright's perforated boards and her astonishing deduction regarding the inspiration of their designs. I'll leave that for h...

This is disappointing to read. At one point, Carolyn Price had the fabulous rug to the entrance of Hillside remade and donated the original to the Price Tower Arts Center, where it is on display - worn spots and all! But, stunning to study all the same. The challenge with the Wright house rug is its...
